Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of parnassa.co, detroit.parnassa.co, and related pages, including the job board, business directory, and Community section (the "Site"). The Site is operated by Parnasa Co, a nonprofit organization (Michigan) recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 42-2201817) ("Parnassa," "we," "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you submit an intake form, our Applicant Terms also apply.

1. Using the Site

You may use the Site for lawful, personal, and community purposes. The Site is intended for people 18 and older, and you must be at least 18 to submit any information to us. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 and will delete it if we learn of it.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • post false, misleading, or fraudulent information, including fake jobs or listings;
  • impersonate any person or business;
  • harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against anyone;
  • post job listings that state an unlawful preference or charge job seekers fees;
  • collect or "scrape" information about users, jobs, or businesses by automated means, or use it for spam, marketing lists, or recruiting outside the Site's purpose;
  • upload viruses or malicious code, probe or break our security, or overload the Site;
  • use the Site to violate any law or anyone's rights, including privacy and intellectual property rights; or
  • try to access the admin tool (admin.parnassa.co) or any non-public area without authorization.

We may remove content or block access for any violation.

3. Our content and intellectual property

The Site's design, text, graphics, logos, and the "Parnassa" name and mark are owned by Parnassa or its licensors and are protected by law. You may view and share Site pages for non-commercial purposes, but you may not copy, modify, or reuse our content or marks without written permission. Quotations from traditional and third-party sources remain with their respective owners.

4. Your content

"User Content" means anything you submit, such as resumes, job posts, business information, photos, and messages. You keep ownership of your User Content. You give Parnassa a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, copy, display, adapt (for example, to format a job post or create an anonymous summary), and share your User Content only to operate the Site and provide our services, consistent with your privacy choices and our Privacy Policy. You promise you have the right to submit it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law. We may review, edit for format, decline, or remove User Content but are not obligated to monitor it.

5. Job board and business directory

Job listings and directory listings come from employers, businesses, community members, public sources, and Google Places data. We do not verify every listing and are not responsible for its accuracy, legality, or availability. Parnassa is not the employer for any job and does not endorse any business. Organizations listed in our Community section are included for information only; listing is not an endorsement or a partnership, and it does not mean Parnasa Co supports any activity of theirs. Verify information independently before applying, hiring, buying, or sharing personal information. See the Job Board Disclaimer and Directory Listing Disclaimer for more, including how to report a suspicious post or claim, correct, or remove a listing.

6. Third-party links and services

The Site contains links to and data from third parties (for example, Google Maps, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and employer or business websites). We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms. Use of Google Maps content is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.

7. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent with: (1) your signature; (2) identification of the copyrighted work; (3) identification of the infringing material and where it appears on the Site; (4) your contact information; (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act for the owner.

8. Disclaimers

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, PARNASSA, Parnasa Co, AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE, ANY LISTING, OR ANY THIRD PARTY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED US $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

10. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Parnassa and the people listed in Section 9 from any claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Site, or your violation of these Terms or of law.

11. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [OAKLAND / WAYNE] County, Michigan, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction. Any claim must be filed within one year after it arises, where the law allows.

12. Nonprofit status, donations, and political neutrality

Parnasa Co is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 42-2201817). We do not currently accept donations online; to make a gift, contact info@parnassa.co. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Unless we state otherwise in your receipt, no goods or services are provided in exchange for your donation. We send a written receipt for donations as required by law [and for every gift of $250 or more]. Our IRS Form 990 is available on request at info@parnassa.co. As a 501(c)(3), Parnasa Co does not endorse or oppose any candidate for public office, and nothing on the Site, including user content, should be read as doing so.

13. Changes; termination; general

We may change the Site or these Terms at any time; the updated Terms apply from their effective date. We may suspend or end your access for any reason. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor organization.
