Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Parnasa Co, a nonprofit organization (Michigan) recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 42-2201817) ("Parnassa," "we," "us"), collects, uses, and shares information through parnassa.co, detroit.parnassa.co, and related pages (the "Site"), and through our intake forms.
The short version: We collect what you give us so we can help you find work, find candidates, or help others. We share it with the people involved in matching, based on the privacy choice you make, and with the service providers that run the Site. We share it only to carry out our charitable purpose of matching. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
1. Information you give us
Job seekers (/apply)
- Resume, photo, and LinkedIn: resume file (PDF), profile photo, LinkedIn URL. We may use your resume to fill in the rest of your form automatically.
- Basic info: first name (required), last name, email and/or phone, WhatsApp number, city, neighborhood, country.
- Career background: current status (employed, unemployed, self-employed, student, other), current or most recent title and employer, years of experience, education level, field of study, headline, professional summary, work history, and education history.
- Skills and preferences: skills, certifications, languages, primary industry, industries of interest, job type, openness to remote work and relocation, work schedule preference, and career goals.
- Compensation (optional): current pay, currency, minimum and maximum salary expectations, compensation type, and benefits priorities.
- Additional info: how you heard about us (for example, friend or family, shul or community, rabbi), why you are seeking a new role, and your profile privacy choice (Internal only, Volunteers only, Anonymous share, or Public).
Employers (/hire)
Company name, your name, email, phone (optional, including WhatsApp), city of the role, industry, company size, job title, job type, remote option, salary range, experience level, number of openings, required skills and qualifications, whether to list the role on the public job board (with or without your company name), and how you heard about us.
Advisors and volunteers (/volunteer)
Name, email, phone (optional, including WhatsApp), city, profession or job title, years of experience, how you would like to help, availability, hours per month, languages, other notes, and how you heard about us.
How your form submission is stored
Our forms do not require an account or login. When you press Submit, your answers and any uploaded files go directly into our secure database (hosted by Supabase) and appear in our internal admin tool, where authorized Parnassa staff review them. We keep an audit log of public submissions and of staff actions on records (for example, who viewed, edited, shared, or exported a profile and when), to protect your information and investigate misuse.
Donors
We do not currently accept donations online. If you make a gift offline (for example, by check), we collect your name, contact details, donation amount and date, and any note you include. We use donor information to process gifts, send tax receipts, thank you, and meet legal and IRS record-keeping requirements. We do not sell, rent, or trade donor information.
Other ways
When you email, call, text, or message us, meet with a coach, or ask to claim or correct a directory listing, we keep what you share and notes about the conversation. Our staff and volunteers may also add notes about meetings, interviews, introductions, and outcomes (for example, whether you were hired).
Sensitive information — please be careful
Some free-text fields invite you to share details such as religious observance (for example, Shabbat or holiday schedules), shul affiliation, family or caregiving needs, health or disability, or immigration status. Only share what you are comfortable with; it is never required. If you do share it, we use it only to find a good fit for you (for example, a schedule that respects your observance), we treat it as confidential, and we do not include it in anonymous summaries. We never share religious observance details, shul or rabbi affiliation, or other sensitive details with employers.
2. Information collected automatically
The intake forms and job board at detroit.parnassa.co use PostHog, an analytics service, which:
- sets a first-party cookie and browser local storage entry (named
ph_<project-key>_posthog) that assigns your browser a random ID; - records page views, clicks and other interactions ("autocapture"), heatmaps, page performance, and device, browser, approximate location (from IP address), and referring page; and
- [PENDING MEIR'S DECISION ON POSTHOG SESSION RECORDING ON FORMS — keep this bullet only if recording stays on:] may record session replays (a reconstruction of how you moved through a page), with form inputs masked.
We also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google. Our hosting provider (Vercel) and database provider (Supabase) keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, time of request) for security and operations. We store small preferences (such as light/dark theme) in your browser.
We do not use advertising cookies, ad pixels, or cross-site tracking. See our Cookie Notice for details and choices.
3. How we use information
- Matching: to review your submission and introduce job seekers, employers, and advisors to each other.
- Coaching and support: to give resume feedback, interview prep, and follow-up.
- AI assistance: to help parse resumes, improve profiles, write anonymous candidate summaries, and summarize roles. People, not AI, make introductions.
- Job board and directory: to publish job listings (if the employer chooses) and business listings.
- Donations: to process gifts and send receipts.
- Communication: to contact you about your submission by email, phone call, or WhatsApp (if you gave us a WhatsApp number); and, only if you opt in, to send marketing and informational emails (see Section 8). We do not currently send SMS text messages.
- Operations and impact: to run, secure, debug, and improve the Site, and to measure outcomes (for example, number of placements) in aggregate or de-identified reports for our community and supporters.
- Legal: to comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect the safety of our users and community.
4. How we share information
With people involved in matching, based on your choices:
- Job seekers' profiles are shared according to the privacy level you pick: Internal only (staff only), Volunteers only (staff and vetted volunteers/advisors), Anonymous share (anonymous summary without name, photo, or contact may go to employers), or Public (your name, contact information, resume or work history, skills, and job preferences may be shared with employers and others who can help). [We will check with you before a personal introduction]
- What employers can receive: at most your name, contact information, resume or work history, skills, and job preferences, and only as your privacy level allows (with Anonymous share, only an anonymous summary of your work history, skills, and preferences). We never share with employers, at any privacy level: your current or expected pay; your shul or rabbi affiliation; your religious observance details; how you heard about us; or any other personal details you give us (such as your photo, family or caregiving situation, health, or why you are seeking a new role).
- Employer contact and job details are shared with staff, volunteers, and candidates. On the public job board, each job is shown according to its visibility setting: Private (not shown), Anonymized (shown without the company name or identifying details, and with only a general location), or Public (shown with the company name). We may make a posting more private, but never more public than the employer chose. We will not publish jobs submitted before the public board launched without the employer's agreement or advance notice and a chance to opt out.
- Advisor/volunteer details are shared with staff, the seekers they help, and employers they connect with.
With service providers that process data for us under contract, only to provide their services:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Website hosting and content delivery |
| Supabase | Database, file storage (resumes, photos), and admin tool login |
| PostHog | Website analytics and session replay |
| Anthropic | AI processing (resume and profile summaries) |
| Google Fonts; Google Places data for the business directory; [Google Workspace email/documents]; [Google Analytics, if added] | |
| Resend | Sending email: transactional emails (confirmations, introductions) and, if you opt in, marketing and informational emails |
| WhatsApp (Meta) | Messaging channel: staff and volunteers may contact you on WhatsApp if you gave us a WhatsApp number. Messages are subject to WhatsApp's terms and privacy policy. |
| LeverageIT | Website development and maintenance |
Other sharing: to comply with law or valid legal process; to protect rights, safety, and security; with a successor organization if Parnassa merges or transfers its program (the successor must honor this policy); and with your consent.
No sale, no targeted advertising. We share personal information only to carry out our charitable purpose of matching job seekers, employers, and advisors (and to run the Site and handle donations). We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in state privacy laws. We do not let advertisers place tracking technology on our Site.
5. Public statistics
We publish aggregate, de-identified statistics about our impact, such as the number of applicants, the number of placements, and the total increase in annual salary for people we helped. These figures never include names or details about individuals. Because our community is small, we follow these rules to avoid anyone being identified:
- we do not publish any breakdown (for example, by industry, neighborhood, employer, or month) when a group has fewer than 10 people;
- we round salary totals (for example, to the nearest $50,000, or show "over $500,000") and do not publish individual or average salaries for small groups;
- we do not publish placement stories, quotes, names, or photos without the person's written permission.
6. How long we keep information
| Data | Proposed default |
|---|---|
| Job seeker profiles, resumes, photos | 24 months after your last activity, then deleted or de-identified |
| Employer and job records | 24 months after the job closes or last activity |
| Donation records | 7 years (tax and IRS record-keeping) |
| Marketing email consent and unsubscribe records | Life of your record plus at least [3] years after unsubscribe; suppression list (email address only) kept indefinitely |
| Volunteer/advisor records | 24 months after you stop volunteering |
| Notes on meetings, introductions, and placements | Same as the related profile |
| Analytics and session replays (PostHog) | Analytics events up to 12 months; session replays up to 30 days |
| Server and security logs | Up to 90 days |
| Backups | Overwritten on a rolling basis (about 30 days) |
We keep aggregate, de-identified statistics (for example, "40 people placed in 2027") indefinitely. We may keep information longer if the law requires it or to resolve disputes.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- access a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it (we will also remove it from future matching; information already shared with an employer or volunteer is subject to their own practices, but we will ask them to delete it);
- change your privacy level or stop being matched; and
- unsubscribe from marketing emails (use the link in any marketing email or write to info@parnassa.co; see Section 8).
How to submit a request: email info@parnassa.co with the subject "Privacy request," or write to 23800 Northwestern Hwy, Ste 190H, Southfield, MI 48075. Tell us your name, the form you used, and the email or phone you submitted. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We aim to respond within 30 days (and within any shorter period required by law). We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
Analytics choices: you can block or delete cookies in your browser, use a browser's "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal (we treat it as an opt-out of analytics where technically feasible), or [use the cookie settings link in our footer, if added].
State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, state laws (for example, in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, and others) may give you additional rights, such as appealing a denied request. Many of these laws do not apply to nonprofit organizations, but we honor the requests above for everyone regardless of where you live. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision; if you remain unsatisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.
8. Marketing and informational emails
- What we send: if you opt in, Parnasa Co may email you job and candidate updates, community news, events, programs, volunteer opportunities, and occasional fundraising appeals.
- Opt-in and optional: we send these only if you check the separate, optional "Yes, send me Parnassa emails" box on a form. It is never pre-checked and never required.
- Transactional vs. marketing: emails about your own application, job, or volunteer record (such as submission confirmations, match introductions, interview or follow-up messages, and important policy notices) are not marketing. We send them whether or not you opt in, and unsubscribing from marketing does not stop them.
- How we send: through our email provider, Resend. Resend processes your email address and delivery information (such as whether a message was delivered or bounced) to send our emails. For marketing emails only, we use Resend's open and click tracking to see whether a message was opened and which links were clicked; transactional emails (such as submission confirmations and match introductions) are not tracked for opens or clicks. Marketing emails identify Parnassa / Parnasa Co, include our mailing address (23800 Northwestern Hwy, Ste 190H, Southfield, MI 48075), and have a one-click unsubscribe link.
- How to unsubscribe: use the link in any marketing email or write to info@parnassa.co. We honor requests promptly, and within 10 business days. We keep a suppression list so that we never re-add you unless you opt in again.
- No sale of email lists: we never sell, rent, trade, or share our email list for anyone else's marketing.
- Consent records: we keep a record of your opt-in (the box state, the wording version, the date and time, and the form) and of any unsubscribe, for as long as we keep your record and for at least [3] years after you unsubscribe. Suppression entries (your email address only) are kept indefinitely so your opt-out is honored.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS); a login-protected admin tool; role-based access, so staff and vetted volunteers see only what they need (and only what your privacy level allows); database access rules that prevent the public from reading submissions; an audit log of submissions and staff actions; and periodic review of who has access. Staff and volunteers with access agree to keep information confidential. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law, including Michigan's Identity Theft Protection Act. Please don't send government ID numbers, bank details, or passwords through our forms.
10. Age limit (18+)
Our Site and forms are intended only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, contact info@parnassa.co.
11. Third-party sites
Our Site links to other sites (such as LinkedIn, WhatsApp, employer websites, and Google Maps). Their privacy practices are their own.
12. Where we operate
Parnassa is based in Michigan, USA, and information is stored in the United States. This policy is governed by Michigan and U.S. law.
13. Changes
We will post updates here with a new effective date. If we make material changes to how we share your information, we will notify active participants by email before the change takes effect.
