Applicant Terms

Effective date: May 1, 2026

These Applicant Terms ("Terms") apply when you submit a form on Parnassa.co, including:

  • Job seekers — detroit.parnassa.co/apply
  • Employers — detroit.parnassa.co/hire
  • Advisors, coaches, and volunteers — detroit.parnassa.co/volunteer

Parnassa.co ("Parnassa," "we," "us") is operated by Parnasa Co, a nonprofit organization (Michigan) recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 42-2201817), 23800 Northwestern Hwy, Ste 190H, Southfield, MI 48075. By submitting a form, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. Our Website Terms of Use also apply. Forms do not require an account or login. If you do not agree, please do not submit a form.

1. What Parnassa is (and isn't)

Parnassa is a free charitable program of Parnasa Co, a 501(c)(3) public charity, that helps people find work. We review submissions, and our staff and vetted volunteers make personal introductions between job seekers, employers, and advisors.

Parnassa is not an employer, employment agency, recruiter, or staffing firm. We do not hire, employ, place, or pay anyone; we do not make hiring decisions; and we are not a party to any job offer, employment relationship, or advising relationship that comes from an introduction.

Parnassa is free. We never charge job seekers a fee.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to submit any form. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we will delete it.

Employers must be authorized to act for the business they list. Advisors and volunteers must be legally able to provide the help they offer.

We may decline, pause, or remove any submission at our discretion, including if we cannot serve your location or field.

3. Your information must be accurate

You agree that what you submit (including your resume, work history, education, credentials, job details, and contact information) is true, current, and yours to share. Do not impersonate anyone or submit someone else's information without their permission. Please tell us if something changes.

4. Consent to share your information for matching

Matching only works if we share information. We share it only to carry out our charitable purpose of matching job seekers, employers, and advisors, and we never sell it. By submitting a form, you allow us to use and share your information as described below and in our Privacy Policy.

Job seekers. You choose a privacy level on the application form:

Your choice Who can see your profile
Internal only Parnassa staff only. Not shared outside Parnassa without asking you first.
Volunteers only Staff and vetted Parnassa volunteers/advisors who help with matching. Not shared externally without asking you first.
Anonymous share We may share an anonymous summary (no name, photo, or contact details) with employers or others.
Public We may share your name, contact information, resume or work history, skills, and job preferences with employers and others who may be able to help.

You can change your choice at any time by contacting info@parnassa.co. Before we personally introduce you to a specific employer, we will [CONFIRM WITH YOU FIRST]. What employers can receive. Depending on the privacy level you choose, an employer may receive only: your name, contact information, resume or work history, skills, and job preferences (or an anonymous summary of your work history, skills, and job preferences without your name or contact information). We never share the following with employers, at any privacy level: your current or expected pay; your shul or rabbi affiliation; details about your religious observance; how you heard about us; or any other personal details you give us (for example, your photo, family or caregiving situation, health, or why you are seeking a new role).

Employers. We may share your company name, contact details, and job details with job seekers, staff, volunteers, and advisors for matching. For the public job board, each job has a visibility setting that you choose when you post:

Job visibility What appears on the public job board
Private Nothing. Shared only with staff, vetted volunteers, and individual candidates we think fit.
Anonymized The role, with your company name and identifying details removed (see below).
Public The role, with your company name.

How we display, edit, and anonymize postings. You allow Parnassa to display, format, shorten, and edit your posting for clarity, length, consistency, and legal compliance (for example, removing language that states an unlawful preference), and to share it with candidates, volunteers, and community partners. For an Anonymized posting, we remove or generalize your company name, logo, website, contact names, exact address (we show only a general area, such as "Oakland County" or "Remote"), and any unique details that could reveal who you are (for example, a one-of-a-kind product, a named client, or a very specific headcount). Anonymization reduces but cannot completely eliminate the chance that a reader recognizes your business.

Admin override. Parnassa may change a posting's visibility to a more private setting (for example, Public to Anonymized or Private), pause it, or remove it at any time. We will not make a posting more public than the setting you chose without your permission. You can change your posting's visibility or close it any time by emailing info@parnassa.co.

Jobs submitted before the public board launched. We will not publish any job you shared with us before [BOARD LAUNCH DATE], even in Anonymized form, unless you agree or we have emailed you notice and you have not objected within [14] days.

Advisors/volunteers. We may share your name, profession, experience, and contact details with job seekers, employers, and staff for matching and coordination.

AI tools. We may use AI tools (currently provided by [AI PROVIDER — Anthropic as of this draft]) to help summarize profiles, improve resumes, write anonymous summaries, and suggest matches. A person reviews introductions; AI does not make hiring decisions.

5. No guarantees

We do our best, but we do not guarantee that a job seeker will get an interview, offer, or job; that an employer will receive candidates or make a hire; that an advisor will be matched; or that any introduction will be successful. We do not verify every statement in every submission, and we do not perform background checks, reference checks, or credential checks unless we say so in writing. Everyone is responsible for doing their own due diligence before hiring, accepting a job, or sharing personal information.

6. Employer obligations

If you submit a job or receive candidates through Parnassa, you agree that:

  1. Lawful hiring. You will comply with all applicable employment laws, including wage-and-hour, work authorization (I-9), background check (FCRA), and privacy laws.
  2. Equal opportunity. You will not discriminate against any applicant on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity), age, height, weight, marital status, familial status, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, Michigan, or local law. You will make reasonable accommodations as required by law, including for religious observance.
  3. Lawful job postings. Your job descriptions will not state or imply an unlawful preference or limitation.
  4. No fees to job seekers. You will not charge any job seeker a fee for an application, interview, placement, or training.
  5. Real jobs. Every role you submit is a real, currently open position that you are authorized to fill. No multi-level marketing, commission-only roles without disclosure, "pay to work" schemes, or illegal work.
  6. Respect candidate privacy. You will use candidate information only to evaluate them for your open roles, keep it confidential, not share it with others, and not contact a candidate's current employer without their permission.
  7. Accurate postings; tell us when filled. You will keep your posting accurate and tell us promptly when a role is filled or closed.
  8. Your hiring decisions are yours. You are solely responsible for your interviews, offers, and employment decisions.

7. Advisor and volunteer conduct

If you volunteer as an advisor, coach, mentor, or connector, you agree to:

  • treat job seekers with respect and keep what they share confidential;
  • use seeker information only to help them, and never for your own business, recruiting, sales, or solicitation unless the seeker agrees;
  • not charge seekers anything or accept payment or gifts related to your volunteer work;
  • avoid conflicts of interest and tell us about them (for example, if you are evaluating a seeker for your own company);
  • follow our volunteer guidelines and any training we provide; and
  • not harass, discriminate, or behave inappropriately in any way.

No professional advice. Advisors share general, informal guidance based on their experience. It is not legal, financial, tax, immigration, medical, mental-health, or other professional advice, even if the advisor is a licensed professional, and no professional-client relationship is created. Please consult a qualified professional you hire directly before relying on such guidance.

Volunteers serve without compensation for Parnasa Co, a 501(c)(3) public charity, and are not employees or agents of Parnasa Co. [Volunteers must also sign the Advisor/Volunteer Waiver and Release.]

8. Communications

By submitting a form, you agree that Parnassa, our staff, and our volunteers may contact you by email or phone call, and by WhatsApp if you gave us a WhatsApp number, using the contact details you provide, about your submission and matching. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and is subject to WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. We do not currently send text messages (SMS) through any texting service. Marketing and informational emails are sent only if you separately opt in on the form (see Section 9).

9. Marketing and informational emails

What we send. If you check the optional "Yes, send me Parnassa emails" box on a form, Parnasa Co may email you job and candidate updates, community news, events, programs, volunteer opportunities, and occasional fundraising appeals.

Optional and opt-in. This box is never required, it is never pre-checked, and leaving it unchecked does not affect your application, job post, or volunteer record in any way.

Emails you get either way. Transactional and relationship emails about your own application, job, or volunteer record are not marketing and are not controlled by that box. They include submission confirmations, match introductions, interview or follow-up messages, and important notices about these Terms or our Privacy Policy. We send these as part of providing our free service.

How we send. Emails are sent through our email provider, Resend. Every marketing email identifies Parnassa / Parnasa Co, has an accurate sender and subject line, includes our mailing address (23800 Northwestern Hwy, Ste 190H, Southfield, MI 48075), and has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Unsubscribing. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or write to info@parnassa.co. We honor requests as quickly as we can, and within 10 business days. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional emails about your own application or job.

No sale of email lists. We never sell, rent, or share our email list with anyone else for their own marketing.

Consent records. We keep a record of your choice (whether you opted in, the wording you saw, when, and on which form) and of any unsubscribe, for as long as we keep your record and for at least [3] years after you unsubscribe, so that we can prove consent and make sure we never re-add you.

10. Removal and termination

You may withdraw at any time by emailing info@parnassa.co and asking us to remove your profile, job, or volunteer record. We may suspend or remove any submission, job post, or participant, at any time and for any reason, including inaccurate information, misconduct, discrimination, spam, or safety concerns. Sections 5 and 11–15 continue after removal.

11. Disclaimers

PARNASSA IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT, STATEMENTS, JOB OFFERS, OR DECISIONS OF ANY JOB SEEKER, EMPLOYER, ADVISOR, OR VOLUNTEER.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, PARNASSA, Parnasa Co, AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, STAFF, VOLUNTEERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST WAGES, LOST PROFITS, OR LOST OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF PARNASSA OR ANY INTRODUCTION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED US $100. Some laws do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Our volunteers also have the protections of the federal Volunteer Protection Act of 1997 (42 U.S.C. § 14501 et seq.) and any applicable state law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Parnassa and the people listed in Section 12 from claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your submission, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or anyone's rights. For employers, this specifically includes claims relating to your hiring practices, job postings, and employment decisions.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in [OAKLAND / WAYNE] County, Michigan, and you consent to those courts' jurisdiction. Before filing any claim, please contact us at info@parnassa.co so we can try to resolve it informally.

15. Changes and general terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with an updated effective date and, for material changes, notify active participants by email. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Website Terms of Use are the entire agreement on this subject.
